PPennary

Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Pennary ("the Service"), a free, browser-based PDF tool. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Pennary does

Pennary lets you view and edit PDF files entirely within your web browser. All processing happens on your own device. We do not receive, store, or have access to the files you open in the Service.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not use it to process, create, or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful, or in any way that violates the rights of others. You are solely responsible for the files you handle and for ensuring you have the right to process them.

2A. Prohibited use — documents and forgery

You expressly agree that you will not use the Service to alter, edit, forge, falsify, tamper with, misrepresent, or fraudulently reproduce any of the following, whether in whole or in part:

• Government-issued documents, certificates, permits, notices, orders, or official records;
• Identity documents, including but not limited to Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence, voter ID, or any national or state identity proof;
• Academic certificates, mark sheets, degrees, or transcripts;
• Financial instruments, bank statements, cheques, invoices, or receipts;
• Legal documents, including contracts, agreements, affidavits, court filings, wills, deeds, or notarised instruments;
• Any document belonging to a third party that you are not authorised to edit or reproduce.

You confirm that, for every document you process, you are either its lawful owner or hold explicit authorisation from its rightful owner. Using the Service to create false, forged, or misleading documents may constitute a criminal offence under applicable law, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (provisions relating to forgery and falsification of documents) and the Information Technology Act, 2000. You accept full and sole legal responsibility for such use.

Because all processing happens on your own device, Pennary has no visibility into, and no ability to verify, store, monitor, or control, the content, authenticity, or ownership of any document you process. Pennary does not endorse, authorise, or facilitate any unlawful use, and accepts no liability whatsoever for documents you create, alter, or distribute using the Service. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pennary and its operators against any claim, loss, penalty, or liability arising from your use of the Service.

3. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements, or that any output will be free of defects. You use the Service at your own risk.

4. Back up your files

Always keep a copy of your original documents. We are not responsible for any loss of or damage to files arising from your use of the Service, including any output that does not meet your expectations.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pennary and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

6. Advertising

The Service may display advertising, including through Google AdSense, to keep it free. Your use of the Service is also subject to the policies of such advertising providers. See our Privacy Policy for details on cookies and advertising.

7. Intellectual property

The Pennary name, branding, and the Service's own code and design are the property of the operator. These Terms do not grant you any rights to them beyond using the Service as intended. The documents you process remain entirely yours.

8. Third-party components

The Service uses open-source libraries to perform PDF operations in your browser. These components are used under their respective licences.

9. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The current version on this page supersedes all prior versions.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Tezpur, Assam, India.
